The Rector of YABATECH, Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday described the incident as tragic.

This followed the inauguration of the committee by the Federal Government to strengthen skills development and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the country.
The Rector of the college made this known at a news conference he addressed to announce the activities for the convocation.
The charge was given by the school Rector at the 2025 Annual Management Retreat of the consultancy business arm of the college.
The Ford Foundation Lead in Nigeria said: “Being specialised institutions will propel global recognition, giving access to support and link to partnerships.”
The immediate past and two terms chairman of the Governing Council of Yaba College of Technology made the call in Lagos State.
The Rector, Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, gave this submission during the courtesy visit paid to him by the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria at the college Council Chamber.
Fanimokun said this as the Chairman of a public lecture to mark the Rector’s 365-day as the CEO of the 77-year-old school.
The 15-man committee, chaired by Engr. Olajide Faheed, marks a significant milestone in the college’s commitment to fostering excellence in technology education and bridging the gap between the town and the gown.
