Rivers to set up commission of inquiry into collapsed seven-storey building in Port-Harcourt

The Rivers Government is to set up a commission of inquiry into the circumstances that led to the collapse s 7-storey building in Port Harcourt.
The state Commissioner for Information, Emma Okah, disclosed this on Wednesday in Port Harcourt while briefing journalists on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the 7-storey building under construction on Woji Road, new GRA axis in Port Harcourt, collapsed on November 23.
The commissioner said that the meeting deliberated extensively on the collapsed building.
Oka said that the state government was commiserating with the victims of the incident and had pledged to provide adequate care for them.
He stated that government placed high value on the lives of the people and had decided to get to the remote cause of the incident.
He also announced that the Commissioner for Urban Development, Reason Onya, had resigned his appointment, to allow for independent and uninterrupted investigation into the matter.
