The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has said the Assembly will not hesitate to place a total ban on the operation of commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as okada, in the state.
Adeyemi, who spoke on Monday against the backdrop of the violent protest of the ban of okada on 475 routes in the state, urged security operatives to halt the protest by the commercial motorcycle operators.
No fewer than 10 vehicles in the fleet of the Lagos State run Bus Rapid Transit were burnt by the protesting okada riders on Monday.
The protest stretched from Ikorodu Road to Ijora, Mushin and other critical areas in the state.
