Gombe United F.C on Wednesday suffered their first home defeat this season, losing 0-1 to visiting Rivers-based Go-Round FC of Omoku.
The visitors secured the lone goal through Henry Ochuba in the 7th minute.
News Agency of Nigeria reports that the host had earlier won two of their home matches and drew one.
The visitors ended the match with 10 men after Otega Akaba was sent off the field in the 90th minute, having been issued two yellow cards at different times during the match.
In a post match briefing, Coach Wilfred Udube of Go Round F.C could not hide his joy, praising his boys for their resilience throughout the match.
He said: “I am happy we won, the secret of our victory is that our plans worked out for us; we studied Gombe United and with that information, we got our result.”
On the officiating, the coach said it was the best he had ever seen, adding that “ if all referees were like this, our league will be better”.
Coach Ladan Bosso of Gombe Utd FC who felt disappointed by the outcome of the encounter, declined comment when approached by newsmen.
