The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions over the Central States of the country on Wednesday morning with chances of localised thunderstorm over Jalingo, Ibi and Obudu.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Tuesday in Abuja also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 37 to 39 and 18 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
It added that there was prospect of localised thunderstorms over Makurdi, Lokoja, Jalingo, Lafia, Minna, Bida and Abuja in the afternoon and evening period.
The agency predicted that the Southern States would experience cloudy conditions with prospects of localised thunderstorms over Calabar and Eket during the forecast period.
It also predicted localised thunderstorms over the region in the afternoon and evening period with day and night temperatures in the range of 34 to 37 and 22 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, Northern States will experience partly cloudy condition over Yelwa, Gusau, Zaria and Gombe with Sunny conditions over the rest of the region throughout the forecast period.
NiMet predicted: “Northern states will also have day and night temperatures in the ranges of 39 to 42 and 19 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
“The Inter Tropical Divide is expected to move northward, therefore, aiding the influx of moisture, extending to the north-western states.
“Most parts of the country are expected to experience weather activities mostly in the afternoon and evening hours within the next 24 hours.’’
