Millions of naira lost as cosmetics company is razed in Lagos

The popular Petals Cosmetic, a multi-million company, has been razed by fire.
The fire started in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The cosmetic manufacturing company is located at Ile Epo Oja, Oke Odo Market, Lagos State.
Chemical worth millions of naira perished in the inferno, including finished products such as hair relaxers.
The company, Franem Industries, is situated at 10/12 Old Ota Road.
The fire might lead to the disengagement of several staff, who are on the pay roll of the manufacturing company.
It was gathered that the fire started from the company’s three storey building warehouse, where chemicals and hair relaxers were stored.
Though fire fighter tried to control the raging fire, they were unsuccessful until around 1pm on Tuesday.
The fire had at that time completely destroyed the larger part of the three storey building store and parts of a nearby building
The spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, said the cause of the fire was still being investigated.
Farinloye added that the fire started around 1:30am.
