An Immigration officer in the Ikeja Zonal ‘A’ office, Lagos, Bankole Seyi, has been accused of defrauding Tunde Adjoto of N130, 000 meant for the acquisition of international passport foe the complainant and his family.
In a report made available to The Eagle Online, the Immigration Officer disguised as the second-in-command of the Nigeria Immigration Service in charge Lagos and and Ogun States.
Seyi assured Adjoto of helping him to acquire an international passport only to disappear as soon as he received the money.
The report stated that the victim traced Seyi to his Ikeja office and reported his actions to his superiors, but they did not act on the matter.
So, the victim forwarded a petition d to the Comptroller General of Immigration, Mohammed Babandede.
However, when a month passed without any feedback from either the Controller General or the Zonal office, the petitioner, Adjoto, visited the Ikeja office only to discover that Seyi has since deserted his duty post, but has not been declared AWOL.
The report further called on the concerned authority to step in to ensure that justice is done and the victim compensated.
