Prince ‘Kunle Oyewumi, a Special Adviser to former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, has denied the news in some quarters that he is interested in contesting for any elective office in 2015.
Oyewumi, who is a son of the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, was a Special Assistant on Millennium Development Goals during the regime of former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State.
Oyewumi, however, said he has no political ambition for 2015 despite the news making the rounds.
In a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, Oyewumi stated that he has not mandated anyone or group to canvass or campaign for him, noting that he is presently not disposed to active politics.
He further said: “As an advocate of good governance, I will use this opportunity to admonish the younger generation, to which I belong, not to see politics as a profession.
“There are several endeavours for survival and other sustainable means of livelihood.”
Oyewumi explained that the youth hold the key to the progress of any nation, calling for their increased involvement in policy formulation and implementation at all levels of government.
