Heartland TM calls for lifting of ban

Heartland FC Team Manager, Promise Nwachukwu, feels unjustly treated after being slammed with a six-match ban by the Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation.
To this end, Nwachukwu believes the ban should be lifted, having sat out three of Heartland’s matches.
His words: “I was shocked when I heard of the ban in the first place because I did not do such a thing.
“I and the referee in question (Bamangar Aminu of Zamfara) appeared before the Disciplinary Committee.
“He was asked if I was the one who beat him and he said no.
“The Committee then asked him why he included me in his report and he gave no explanations.
“At that point, I expected the case to be thrown away.
“The fact is that I was not even near any place that the referee was victimized.
“People who know me very well will admit that I will never behave in such a manner.
“I have been unjustly treated and it will be fair for the Committee to lift the ban since I have missed three matches already.”
Nwachukwu sat out the league fixture against Warri Wolves in Owerri, the Federation Cup round of 16 clash against Sharks in Benin and is billed to miss the round of eight tie against Akwa United in Kaduna on Wednesday.
It will be recalled that Nwachukwu was banned for allegedly beating Aminu during Heartland’s home loss to Enyimba while Heartland was ordered to play three home matches behind closed doors.
