The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has suspended and replaced the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state, Hon. Otonye Briggs.
The suspension, with immediate effect, was announced in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nelson Chukwudi.
In the statement on Tuesday, Chukwudi also announced the replacement of Briggs with Bitebobo Nelson Amieye by Fubara.

The statement added: “Barrister Otonye Briggs is hereby directed to hand over all council property in his possession to the Caretaker Committee Chairman.”
