FRCN DG assumes duty, promises to reward excellence

The new Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeriam Ladan Salihu, has said reward for excellence and creativity will top the agenda of the management of the corporation.
Salihu, who spoke at a brief handover ceremony held at the FRCN headquarters in Abuja on Monday, charged staff of the corporation to improve on their productivity.
He said that the new management would intensify efforts to improve the fortunes of the organisation, while it would resist mediocrity and sycophancy at all levels.
According to him, the vision of the new management is to address the challenges affecting the corporation and to take it to the next level.
Salihu said: “I want to ask all staff of FRCN here in the headquarters and all over the country that we must fasten our seat belts, put our heads together and take the corporation to greater glory.
“I want to assure you that we will spare no effort, I will leave no stone unturned to ensure that we take FRCN to greater heights.
“I, therefore, want to state that we will try and build a management that will reward excellence and creativity and at the same time resist sycophancy and mediocrity.”
Salihu thanked his predecessors for their efforts in sustaining the legacies of the corporation, and noted that the new management would from time to time tap from their wealth of experience to sustain the corporation.
He specifically thanked the immediate past Acting Director-General, Bola Agboola, for his patience and wisdom in handling delicate and difficult issues affecting the corporation in the past seven months.
Earlier, Agboola thanked the staff of the corporation for their support during his tenure, and attributed his success to both the management and staff of the corporation across the country.
He expressed confidence in the new director-general, adding: “He is not a novice to the challenges facing the corporation.”
Agboola offered to serve the corporation from the outside, assuring Salihu that his doors were opened to him at all times.
Salihu, before his appointment, was the Executive Director of the Kaduna Zonal station.
He is a graduate of Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kano and joined the services of the FRCN in 2007.
