Palaise des Sports de Cotonou in Benin Republic, venue of the 2015 FIBA Africa Zone 3 Club Championship for Men and Women billed for November 4 to 12, 2015, is now wearing a new look owing to the facelift that it has received these past week in the build up to the championship.
A visit to the venue, situated inside the Stade de l’Amitie or Friendship Stadium, as it is known in English, has seen the floor, which was last used in 2010 for the Club Championship finals, undergoing repair works.
The President of the Fédération Béninoise de Basketball, the host federation for this year’s championship, Alex Paraiso, says that all is set for the event, which will see FIBA Africa Zone 3 produce two male and two female teams for the Club Championship proper in Angola late November through to December.
“We as a federation are proud to be host of this championship and the organising committee has is already at work making sure that everything is ready when the clubs arrive Cotonou.
The floor at the Palaise des Sports de Cotonou is being touched to effect minor repairs and fresh markings.
“You can be rest assured that all will be ready before the teams arrive Cotonou on November 4th,” Paraiso stated.
The Championship will be contested by champion and runners up teams across the eight countries of the zone, namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria and Togo.
