Eagles boycott training over bonus row

Nigeria’s Super Eagles reportedly boycotted training as they looked to secure additional bonuses for reaching the last 16 of the World Cup.
According to our competent source, each Nigerian player was paid $15,000 for their feats in the group stages; $10,000 for beating Bosnia and Herzegovina and $5,000 for their draw against Iran, amounts that were in line with what was agreed prior to the tournament.
However, the playing squad are now reportedly said to be demanding to be paid a win bonus for their stalemate with Iran as well as extra for their loss to Argentina and for securing a spot in the knockout phase.
However, Coach Stephen Keshi and Captain Joseph Yobo would not be drawn into such talk, telling reporters on Thursday that there was no disagreement over money.
