Jubilation has engulfed the camp of a frontline governorship aspirant, Sir Tony Obuh as the Delta state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) released the results of the last Saturday’s House of Assembly Primaries.
The primary election was conducted across the 29 constituencies of the state.
Consequently, some of the present members of the House who won the primaries have been presented with their Certificates of Returns by the state party Chairman, Chief Edwin Uzor.
The Eagle Online however gathered on Wednesday in Asaba that out of the 29 PDP flag-bearers, over 25 are in Obuh’s campaign train and are automatic delegates of the party.
Among them are the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Peter Onwusanya; his Deputy, Basil Ganagana; Majority Leader, Monday Igbuya; Deputy Majority Leader, Johnson Erijo; Hon. Samuel Mariere, Ughelli North 1; Tim Owhefere, Isoko North; Keston Okoro, Udu; Daniel Mayuku, Warri South West; Dennis Omovie, Warri South 2; Kennedy Daubry, Burutu 2; Dan Yingi, Burutu 1; Friday Osanebi, Ndokwa East; Alphonsus Ojo, Ukwuani; Azuka Azaka, Ndokwa West; Efe Ofobruku, Uvwie; and Pat Ajudua, Oshimili North.
Although Michael Diden (Warri North) and a host of others are coordinating for Senator Ifeanyi Okowa’s governorship ambition, it was clear from all indications that other winners like Lady Angela Nwaka, Aniocha South; Uzoma Idabor, Aniocha North; Orezi Esievo, Isoko South 1; Sherriff Oborovwori, Okpe; Godwin Abigor, Warri South 1; Tony Elekeokwuri, Ika North East; Isaac Ulebor, Ika South; Pius Labo, Bomadi; Arthur Akpowowo, Ethiope East; Erhiatake Ibori, Ethiope West; Rueben Izeze, Ughelli South; and Prince Eric Oharisi, Ughelli North 2, would work for Obuh’s aspiration.
The jubilation that broke out at the announcement of the authentic results by the state chairman triggered commendations from some quarters.
Onwusanya has commended the peaceful conduct of the primaries, hailing the mature way the party conducted its affairs.
