The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State, Chief Dan Obih, has described a front-line aspirant for the National Chairmanship position of the party, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, as a “political engineer” with the right calculation to give the party victory in 2019.
Obih made this remark while speaking on behalf of party faithful during the visit of Daniel and his campaign entourage to the PDP State secretariat in Benin on Saturday.
Speaking on the need to have a more youthful person as the National Chairman, Obih stated: “I have seen your entourage and I must commend you for surrounding yourself with very young people.
“All over the world, the youth are taking over the mantle of leadership and you have exemplified that with your team.
“It shows the kind of leader you are.”
The State Chairman reiterated the need for the party to get the National Chairmanship election right as Edo State PDP having been a victim of the leadership crisis is passionate to ensure the right person emerges.
Obih assured Daniel that party members in the state have a soft spot for him while thanking him for been the first aspirant to visit the State.
In his reaction, Daniel declared that while the contest is largely between friends, he believes that supporting the South West region will be more strategic for the party towards emerging victorious in 2019.
