There is heavy shooting going on around Oke Afa area of Lagos State as commercial motorcycle riders, popularly known as okada riders, engaged policemen in a supremacy battle.
The clash, which was still on as at press time on Wednesday, followed the resistance of arrest by the okada riders who were plying roads from which they have been banned by the state government.
It was learnt that a patrol van of the police had been burnt down by the okada riders who are said to be largely Hausa.
The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, The Eagle Online was told, had ordered for reinforcement for the team that came under attack.
