A former Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, is in the detention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged abuse of office and misappropriation of fund.
The anti-graft agency has started quizzing the former Minister in its Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State office as at press time.
According to the Twitter handle of the agency, it is quizzing Ogunlewe over abuse of office, corruption and betrayal of public trust as Pro-chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta.
Ogunlewe, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, is the current Pro-chancellor of FUNAAB.
The decision of the agency to quiz Ogunlewe was as a result of a petition written by concerned stakeholders in FUNAAB.
It was alleged that the Pro Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor engaged in an “unbridled corruption and betrayal of public trust”.
As at the time of filling this report, the former Minister was in the Ibadan office of the anti-graft agency over his involvement in allegations raised against him.
