Renowned culture icon and folklorist, Jimi Solanke, is dead.
According to available information as at press time, the artist, popular for: “Tales By Moonlight,” died on Monday.
Solanke, 82, was reported to have been ill and was being transported to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Ogun State when he died.

He was born on July 4, 1942, in Ipara Remo, Ogun State and served as a pioneer member of the Orisun Theatre Group, founded by Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, in 1961.
