The First Lady of Nigeria, Hajia Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has returned to the country.
This is coming months after she did not return home from the holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia with her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to available information, Hajia Buhari arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 4:30am via a British Airways flight.
Speaking to reporters on arrival, she said she was happy to be home after a well-deserved rest.
She said she was fully rejuvenated to continue the work of improving the health and well-being of women, children and other vulnerable Nigerians.
She used the opportunity to thank her husband, family and well-wishers for their support and encouragement.
On hand to receive her were wives of present and former and governors and many associates.
Earlier reports had it that Hajia Buhari left the United Kingdom for Nigeria on Saturday night via Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom.
She was said to have been seen off by the wife of the Nigerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Modupe Oguntade.
She confirmed the development on her verified Twitter handle on Saturday evening.
She tweeted: “Wife of the Nigerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mrs Modupe Oguntade, seeing me off. Thank you so much, madam.”
She had been in Saudi Arabia with President Buhari for the hajj between August 9 and 14.
She left for London from Saudi Arabia.
