Concerned about the growing insecurity in the country, especially the near-unchallenged bombings and killings by dreaded sect, Boko Haram, the five governors of the South East geopolitical zone met on Sunday for over three hours.
At the meeting, which took place at the Enugu State Government House in Enugu were the Governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji; Anambra State, Peter Obi; Ebonyi State, Martin Elechi; Enugu State, Sullivan Chime; and the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Jude Agbaso.
Though no communiqué was issued at the end of the meeting, Obi, who is the Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum, said: “We only discussed the issue of security.
“And as you well know, security issues are not discussed in the public.”
