Boko Haram killed several soldiers to abduct Chibok schoolgirls – Catholic priest

Contrary to the position that had been peddled that there was no military presence when the close to 300 schoolgirls of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State were abducted by Boko Haram, a Catholic priest has said there was indeed heavy military presence.
However, the members of the dreaded sect wiped out all the soldiers they met on their way to abduct the girls.
This was revealed on Friday by the Principal of St. Murumba Collage and the Rev. Father in charge of St. Murumba Catholic Church, Zaria Road, Jos, Rev. Peter Uchu.
Uchu disclosed this while administering the first sacrament, called Baptism, to some young promising prophets of God and the Form One students of the Institution.
Father Uchu, who was represented by Rev. Joseph Sogos, described the Chibok incident as the highest conspiracy of the highest order, sating the Boko Haram members wiped out all the soldiers at the checkpoints they met on their way to the Chibok school.
He said: “As we read from the book of Matthew 16 v 18-21, we are told that there is time for desolation and consolation and what we need now is love.
“When I woke up in the morning, I heard in the news that soldiers and police officers were killed in Borno State and it surprises me.
“We don’t know what will happen tomorrow.
“Just like what happened to the Chibok girls.
“Somebody told us how they were taken away.
“In fact, he said the security are just covering up.
“That all the armies on the check oint that day were wiped away.”
Uchu however encouraged teachers continuously put in their best and sacrifice for the interest of the younger generation by ensuring that they inculcate good values and God’s fear in their students.
