At last, President Muhammadu Buhari has moved into the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Aso Rock serves as both the residence and office of Nigeria’s president.
Since his inauguration on May 29, 2015, President Buhari had been operating from his private residence and the Defence House, which he used as his office.
The news of the President spending his first night in the Villa was broken at 9:10pm on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on his Twitter handle.
Adesina tweeted: “President Muhammadu Buhari moves into Aso Villa. To pass first night there today.”
Buhari had earlier on Sunday broken his fast with his family and friends at the Villa though it was not certain then he would spend the night there at that time.
Before this, the First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, had moved into the Villa on Thursday.
The delay in moving into the Presidential Villa was said to have been occasioned by the repair works being carried out on the entire complex.
