Aregbesola, Ojudu, Fayemi, others for Thegazellenews.com’s anniversary lecture

The Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and the Senator representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District in the Senate, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, are among high profile guests and speakers at the first anniversary public lecture cum gala night of thegazellenews.com, which takes place on March 14, 2014.
According to a statement released by the organisers of the event, signed by the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the news portal, Musbau Rasak, and the Chairman of the organising committee for the event, Idris Oseni, the event will take place at De Renaissance Hotel, Alausa, Ikeja.
Senator Ojudu will be the guest speaker at the event while Governor Aregbesola will deliver a keynote address at the occasion.
Both will speak on the main lecture topic: Online Media: Challenges and Roles in a Developing Democracy.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Smart Adeyemi, is also expected to speak on the main topic of the day.
The Governors of Ekiti and Kwara States, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, will co-chair the event, while the Senate Minority Whip, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, will be the father of the day for the event.
Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) of Lagos State and the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, are chief hosts for the event.
Other high profile guests expected at the event are House of Representatives members: Hons. James Abiodun Faleke, Hakeem Abiodun Muniru, Toyin Suarau, Biodun Akinlade, Saheed Fiajbi, Lanre Odubaote, Abike Dabiri-Erewa and Samuel Adejare.
Also expected are the Deputy Governors of Lagos and Ekiti States, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire and Prof. Modupe Adelabu, who are mothers of the day, while the Lagos State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, is the special guest of honour.
Highlight of the event will be the presentation of award to the best female and male lawmakers in Lagos State as voted for by legislative officers working with them and journalists covering the Assembly.
The awards will be presented by Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa for the female while Speaker Ikuforiji will present the male version.
Outstanding local government chairmen in Lagos and Ogun States will also be honoured at the event.
