The Anambra State Police Command has named Superintendent Haruna Mohammed as its new Police Public Relations Officer.
The Command in a statement signed by the new PPRO and made to the News Agency of Nigeria in Awka on Friday said that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Umar, appointed Mohammed for the office.
The appointment of Mohammed followed the redeployment of the former PPRO, ASP Nkiruka Nwode, to Nnewi area of the state on Wednesday May 9.
The command PPRO hails from Biu Local Government Area of Borno and holds a Bachelor degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Maiduguri.
It also said that the new appointee has Masters degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolutions from the National Open University Lagos.
Mohammed passed out of the Police Academy Wudil on the February 1, 2005 and had occupied various positions in the Nigeria Police Force.
The positions are: “Divisional Police Officer, Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate Division, Bauchi, Community Policing Officer, Officer in charge of Welfare, Police College Maiduguri, Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command.
Other positions he held include; Commander, Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad Bauchi and Anambra State Police Public Complaint and Anti Piracy unit.
He is a member of the National Institute for Public Relations and Society for Peace Studies and Practice.
