Accident: Rivers United players, official recuperating – Eguma

Stanley Eguma, the Coach of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt, said on Tuesday that four players and official involved in an accident have been discharged from the hospital.
Eguma disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
He said the players were getting better after the incident.
He said: “The players and official have all been discharged from hospital and I thank God that they are recuperating fast.
“It was really an ugly experience that we had but I thank God that no life was lost.”
Eguma said some of the players would partake in a Nigeria Professional Football League match against El kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri on August 7.
“The players that had shock as a result of the accident will be fit by the weekend to play but the ones that sustained internal injuries will be left out,” he said.
NAN reports that the bus carrying Rivers United players had an accident on July 28 at Ndele axis of the East-West Road, Emohua Local Government of Rivers State.
Four players – Sokpe Hameed, Yusuf Jaiyeola, Festus Austin, Maxwell Wike – and an official with injuries had been treated and discharged from the hospital.
