An Area Court in Jos on Tuesday sentenced Kangmi Attahiru,18, to three months imprisonment for stealing a Tecno Spark 5 android cell phone and a Nokia button phone.
The Judge, Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the offence and begged the court for leniency.
He gave the convict an option of N20,000 fine or three months imprisonment in default.
Earlier, the police prosecutor, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported at the Anglo Jos police station on December 18, 2023, by Noro Gyang.

He said the accused trespassed into the complainant’s room and stole her phones all valued N65,000.
The prosecutor further told the court that during police investigation, the accused confessed to have committed the offence and the phones were recovered from his possession.
The offence, he said, contravened the Plateau State Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria.
