Mum, as Jonathan, ASUU end 13 hours meeting

Mum was the word from both the delegation of the Federal Government and the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities after the meeting to resolve the impasse between both ended in the wee hours of Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, chaired by President Goodluck Jonathan, lasted for over 13 hours.
It commenced at about 2:38pm on Monday when Jonathan arrived the venue, the First Lady’s Wing of the Presidential Villa.
But after the meeting, both the National President of ASUU, Dr. Isa Fagge, and the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, had no clear cut information for newsmen, who had been waiting since Monday morning for the meeting to commence and end.
Fagge told newsmen: “We are taking a message from President Goodluck Jonathan to our members.”
He declined further comment.
It was the same for Wogu: “The ASUU leaders have a good message from the President for their members.”
Jonathan took over the negotiation with ASUU from Vice President Namadi Sambo after the leadership of ASUU stood their grounds that their demands must be fully met before they return to work.
The initial Federal Government negotiation team was headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.
