Court remands traffic officer in prison over alleged robbery

An Abeokuta, Ogun State Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded a
32-year-old Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency official,
Adedeji Ibrahim, in prison custody for alleged robbery.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Ozimini, told the court
that the offence was committed on May 23 at about 8.30pm at the
Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
Ozimini said that the accused, of 5, Akanni Street, Sapon, Abeokuta,
allegedly robbed two passers-by, Florence Ogaraku and Yewande
Adesemowo, of their money and valuables valued at N100,000.
“Ibrahim robbed the two women of their valuables at the Moshood Abiola
Stadium while they were on their way home,” he said.
The accused, whose plea was not taken by the court, was not
represented by a counsel.
The Magistrate, Emmanuel Adekunle, ordered that the accused be
remanded at the Ibara Prison and adjourned the case to August 30 for
further hearing.
