Three students in court over alleged gang rape of female colleague

An Ikeja, Lagos State Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday granted three students N500,000 bail each over alleged gang rape of their female colleague.
The accused – Samuel Omodele, 21; Olabanjo Balogun, 21; and Divine Francis, 20 – who are students of the Nigeria Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research, Ajah, Lagos, are facing charges of conspiracy and rape.
The Chief Magistrate, B. O. Osunsanmi, ordered the accused to also produce two sureties each in the like sum.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case to January 17 for mention.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the students committed the offences on November 3 at the school premises.
Inuoha said that the accused gang raped one of their colleagues, aged 20.
Inuoha said: “They also forced her to suck their manhood.”
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 259, 260, 261 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
