Team Nigeria on Sunday, the last day of the 2018 Africa Senior Athletics Championships in Asaba, clinched three gold medals, increased the country’s gold medal tally to nine.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Semenya won the race with a time of 49.96 seconds, while Christine Botlogetwe of Botswana came second with 51.19 secs.
In the 4×400 metres, Nigeria finished second with a time of 3:25.29 behind Jamaica’s 3:24.00 while Botswana came third finishing with 3:26.86.
Competing in the second semi-final, the 20-year-old Ajayi finished second with a time of 51.81 secs.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that in Heat 2 of the race, Shaunae Miller-Uibo of Bahrain placed first with a time of 50:97secs at the championships that began on August 4 and will end on August 13.
