According to Vanguard, Fubara’s visit followed a meeting with President Bola Tinubu in London, shortly after the president declared a six-month state of emergency in Rivers State on March 18.

Fubara spoke to his supporters during a Service of Songs in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on Sunday in honour of the late elder statesman, Edwin Clark.
The group noted that as part of efforts to promote peace in the state, it will set up a reconciliation committee to interface with the suspended Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, his predecessor, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as well as other parties involved in the political feud rocking the state.
Fubara said this in a statement issued by the Rivers State Coordinator of Renewed Hope Initiative, Tonye Briggs Oniyide, on Saturday.

The letter, which sought a meeting with lawmakers about the Supreme Court’s decision on the state’s political situation, was dismissed by Wike as “useless.”
