The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), in Enugu State, has flagged off the training of 51 unemployed graduates on skills acquisition under its Community Based Training Scheme (CBTS).

The agency’s Director General, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, stated that the funds when injected into their businesses would give them a big boost towards expanding those businesses.
The acting State Coordinator, Victoria Williams-Dada, made the call during an orientation programme for 690 life skills trainees in the state.
NDE Director-General (DG) Malam Abubakar Nuhu-Fikpo, made the promise in Lokoja, the Kogi capital city Tuesday at the orientation and sensitization ceremony for the training that the directorate’s development initiative had programmed for the teeming unemployed youths.
NDE Director-General Aham Osuchukwu, represented by the State’s Coordinator, Nuhu Fikpo, said this at the opening of the training in Yenagoa on Tuesday.
Bauchi state NDE Coordinator, Alhaji Lawan Yaya, announced this in Bauchi Tuesday at the commencement of the training.
Director-General, National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Mallam Abubakar Nuhu-Fikpo, made the promise Wednesday during the official flag-off of FG’s Enterprise and Finance Counseling Clinic training in Abakaliki, the State capital.
Ngige said this in a statement made available to newsmen by his Media Office on Sunday in Abuja.
This followed the adoption of a motion by Sen. Ibrahim Hadejia (APC- Jigawa), at Thursday’s plenary.
The development came to the fore on Thursday during the Senate plenary.
Festus Keyamo, Minister of State, Labour and Employment, confirmed the appointment in a letter titled “Appointment as Acting Director General of National Directorate of Employment” and addressed to Fikpo on Wednesday in Abuja.
This, he said, would be achieved through various skills acquisition and other programmes initiated by government towards empowering youths with relevant skills, to enable them become self-reliant.
The NDE Director-General, Dr Nasiru Argungu, disclosed this in Gusau at the opening ceremony of the orientation programme for new intakes to NDE programmes.
