The movement, in a joint condolence message signed by their spokesperson, Olawale Okunniyi, said the sad exit of the NADECO leader on the posthumous birthday of the late Chief MKO Abiola, the winner of the June 12 presidential elections, was a loss too heavy for his associates in the progressive movement to bear.

In a condolence letter on Friday, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC. Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, on behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of the Nigerian Communications Commission describes the demise of late Joda, who died on Friday 13th of August, 2021 at the age of 91, as an irreparable loss to the entire nation.

The CNPP noted that “withholding assent will be the only proof that Mr. President is not part of the conspiracy to undermine the country’s electoral process”, saying that “members of the National Assembly have remained number one enemy of Nigeria’s democracy and a major hindrance to conscious efforts to progressively deepen  Nigerian democracy to enhance good governance.”
