A former Minister of Finance and current Director General, World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iwella has called for caution among Nigerians with respect to alleged deliberate exclusion of President Bola Tinubu in photographs showing her and other personalities at the just concluded new Financial pact summit in Paris, France.
The former Foreign Affairs Minister also urged Nigerians who have reacted to the controversial pictures which have gone viral on social media to relax and avoid polarizing the issue.
She called on Nigerians to unite and shun ensuing verbal attacks matter.
Dr Okonjo-Iwella’s reaction was made via her Twitter handle.
She tweeted: “Nigerians please relax! Re Paris, Interesting attacks from both sides. Sadly shows the depth of polarization in our society. I post photos in the order received by accompanying staff or colleagues. Reading more into it is unwarranted. Let’s unite to build our country not attack!”
Anger and strong condemnation have trailed alleged deliberate exclusion of President Tinubu on photographs posted via Okonjo-Iwella’s Twitter handle.
Tinubu has since traveled to France for the Summit Tuesday.
He is expected back to Nigeria today – Saturday.
