The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ogun has hailed the judgement of the Supreme Court which affirmed Dapo Abiodun as the duly elected Governor of the State.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday, in Abuja, by Tunde Oladunjoye, the State’s APC Publicist.
Speaking after the ruling Oladunjoye said it “served the course of justice and sounded the death knell on the vaunting and forlorn serial governorship ambition of Ladi Adebutu.”
Quoting the party chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, Oladunjoye congratulated Governor Dapo Abiodun, and his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele “on the landmark judgement by the apex Court.”
The statement read in part: ” We salute the incorruptible and courageous justices of the Supreme Court for upholding the concurrent verdicts of the lower courts. They have shown that true justice lies with the judiciary.
“We also want to congratulate our gentleman and hard-working Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun (CON), and his Deputy, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele on this sweet landmark judgement. It has been long in coming but well deserved.
“Now that the matter has been fully laid to rest, we urge our amiable Governor and his team to increase the tempo of their transformational governance in our dear Ogun State”.
The party also urged the opposition and residents of Ogun State to “join hands with His Ex))Governor Dapo Abiodun (CON) to take our dear state to greater heights.

Earlier, the Supreme Court, in its lead judgement prepared by Justice Tijani Abubakar, upheld the election of Governor Abiodun, stating that it found no reason to nullify the election victory of the APC candidate.
The apex Court, in a unanimous decision by a five-member-panel, dismissed as lacking in merit an appeal the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and its candidate, Ladi Adebutu, filed to challenge the result of Governorship poll held in the state on March 18, 2023.
“This appeal is unmeritorious and it is accordingly dismissed,” the Court held.
