Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is embroiled in a bidding war with a “high profile rapper” for a car worth £1.9 million.
Mayweather, who is also known as Money Man, certainly isn’t short of cash to buy the rare motor.
The 44-year-old is estimated to have a net worth of $450 million and already has a car collection valued at £20 million.
But he’s facing a serious battle to add the 2009 Maybach 62S Landaulet to his VIP parking lot.
According to TMZ, the car is so rare that only eight have been made, two of which belong to music stars Drake and DJ Khaled.
Mayweather wants to add his name to that illustrious list, but is involved in a bidding war with a “high profile rapper”.
The latest offer stands at a cool £1.4 million, although that is expected to rise with bidding still active.
Hans-Dieter Multhaupt is vice president of programme management for Maybach and spoke glowingly about the car.
He said: “The Landaulet is for a superrich individual who wants something that is extremely extraordinary and enjoys being driven in a car with acres of sky above them.”
Mayweather retired from boxing in 2015 but made a sensational return to the ring in 2017 to take on UFC star Conor McGregor.
“Pretty Boy” claimed victory via TKO in the 10th round to take his career record to 50-0.
He earned a reported $350 million for the bout, which was dubbed the “Money Fight.”
The undefeated star had been expected to take on YouTuber Logan Paul in an exhibition showdown last month, only for the fight to be postponed.
The pair will now clash later in 2021.
