Smarting from the visit by the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, to its new office complex, the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency played host to members of the outdoor advertising industry recently.
The meeting, which was first of its kind under the leadership of the Managing Director, George Kayode Noah, was aimed at addressing some of the salient issues affecting the business particularly in Lagos State.
Key on the agenda was the issue of rate review for all outdoor advertisement structures.
The discussion also touched on billboards within military formations, discounts on vacant billboards, tightening the regulation on mobile advertisement as well as potential outdoor advertising opportunities within the new concession corridor.
Noah informed the gathering that LASAA will exhaust all avenues to ensure that billboards within military formation are properly regulated.
On rate review, he added: “We have reduced our rates to the lowest at the moment.
“I believe writing letters to you is the only responsible way to ask you to pay all outstanding due to the Agency.”
Noah also used the opportunity to clear the air on use of billboards.
He pointed: “LASAA billboards are used as a vehicle for social communication to support and propagate the various programs and projects of the State Government.”
On their part, the members present at the meeting craved for continuous understanding from LASAA regarding outstanding payments by members who are indebted to the Agency.
The Managing Director of 21st Limited, Femi Ogala, asked LASAA for more protection for its members.
Ogala used the opportunity to thank LASAA while also urging the Agency to constantly organize regular sessions to resolve some of the issues affecting the industry.
