The House of Representatives has suspended legislative proceedings in the Kogi State House of Assembly.
This followed the crisis rocking the House, which led to the sacking of the Speaker, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, by 12 members of the 25-member House.
At a public hearing on the matter in Lokoja, Kogi State, the House of Representatives said the need to suspend proceedings was to allow it conclude investigations into the crisis.
The Chairman of the six-man House of Representatives Ad-Hoc committee on the crisis, Hon. Mohammed Mourktar Ahmed, who made the position of the House known, said the investigation would be thorough and unbiased.
Ahmed said the House of Representatives would not recognise any faction until investigation was concluded.
The public hearing was attended by Bello and his 12 supporters while the group of 12 that suspended him and other principal officers of the House was represented by three members.
