Reports reaching The Eagle Online from Asaba, Delta State has it that the ruling party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party, has won the chairmanship seats in 16 of the state’s 25 local governments areas.
The local government areas election took place on Saturday.
The results announced so far by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission has it that one of the results from the local governments was inconclusive.
The inconclusive result was from Ethiope East Local Government Area.
Some of the 16 councils won by the PDP are Ethiope West, Warri South, Aniocha South, Ika South, Ukwuani, Ndokwa West, Oshimili South, Warri North, Okpe and Udu.
Others are Ughellli North, Warri South West, Bomadi, Burutu, Aniocha North and Patani.
The PDP was unopposed in Ethiope West and Patani.
Earlier in the day, the PDP was announced to have won the chairmanship seats in the 10 announced local government areas.
The state has 25 local government areas.
The PDP also won 96 councillorship seats unopposed.
