Nigeria again crossed the 1,000 mark of single-day infection of the Coronavirus Disease as the country recorded 1,041 cases on Thursday.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease control revealed this on Thursday on its Twitter handle.
Nigeria had twice before Thursday recorded two days of over 1,000 infections.
The figures were 1,145 and 1,133.
The country’s three epicentres: Federal Capital Territory and Lagos and Kaduna States, were at the top of the chat for the latest figure released at about midnight on Thursday.
According to the NCDC, Lagos State was at the top with 316 cases, while FCT followed with 210 and Kaduna State 83.
Others that recorded new cases were Plateau, 70; Gombe, 56; Oyo, 56; Katsina, 47; Nasarawa, 35; Kano, 33; Ogun, 21; Rivers, 17; Niger, 14; Imo, 14; Delta, 12; Kwara, 12; and Edo, 12.
Others are Benue, 9; Anambra, 8; Taraba, 4; Ekiti, 4; Ebonyi, 6; Bayelsa, 1; and Sokoto, 1.
Six deaths were also recorded on Thursday.
This moved the total number of deaths since the pandemic broke out in Nigeria to 1,242, while the total number of cases stand at 81,963, with 69,651 successfully treated and discharged.
