Edo Commissioner resigns

The Edo State Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Omoua Oni-Okpaku, has resigned.

A source close to the Commissioner confirmed the development to The Eagle Online on Friday.

Oni-Okpaku is the third top government official to resign from the Administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki, who recently dumped the All Progressives Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Paul Ohonbamu, also reigned last month.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Taiwo Akerele, had in April left the government.

The state’s governorship election, in which Obaseki is the candidate of the PDP, has been scheduled for September 19, 2020 by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
