Super Eagles coaches are expected to enjoy at least a happy New Year after they were assured of a month’s pay.
The coaches are owed several months’ pay by the cash-strapped Nigeria Football Federation, with the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, ordering the NFF to clear the backlog of salaries before the end of this year.
“We have sighted the transfer papers of our payment of a month’s salary, but we are yet to receive the alert to show the cash has hit our accounts. We have been assured that latest on Monday we will get the alert,” one of the coaches disclosed.
Sunday Oliseh is on N5 million a month, while his assistants, Salisu Yusuf and Jean Francois Luscuito, earn N2 million each.
