A former Captain and now Team Manager of a Nigeria Premier Football League, Kun Khalifat FC of Owerri, Chijioke Ekpemandu, is dead.
The former club of the team, who is now the Team Manager, was said to have died in a road accident on April 4, 2026.
A statement signed by the Media Officer of the Club, Ambassador Ezinwa Saviola Godwin, on Sunday said: “It is with regret, sadness, and heavy heart that Kun Khalifat FC of Owerri announces the passing of our former captain, a brother, a leader, and a legend, Chijioke Ekpemandu who died in a road accident.
“We are heartbroken by this loss. Until his death, on Saturday, April 4th 2026, he was our Team Manager.
“Chijioke was a true leader on and off the pitch. His leadership, dedication, and passion for the club will never be forgotten. He gave his all to this club and inspired everyone around him.
