The representative of Bayelsa West Senatorial District gave the advice when he spoke on Sunday with newsmen in Abuja.
Dickson made this known in an interview with ARISE News on Tuesday, amid controversy over amendments to the Electoral Act.

During the Senate plenary on Thursday, March 20, 2025, Senator Bamidele Opeyemi moved a motion to reorder the Order Paper to allow the Senate to handle the debate on the state of emergency in Rivers before other motions itemized for legislative action.
The allegation is contained in a press release titled: “Ongoing attempt to destabilize the minority parties in the Senate would be resisted” and signed by eight Senators.
Dickson is a serving lawmaker, Agadaga is a former Chief of Staff to Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri, while Kombowei is a former Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government.
The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Ayibaina Duba, stated this in a statement.

The couple was arraigned on Friday in Yenagoa by the EFCC for money laundering allegedly carried out in 2015.

Dickson said his noticeable absence from government functions was deliberate and in consonance with his values and principles of non interference.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the new senators included Seriake Dickson (PDP-Bayelsa), Cleopas Moses (PDP-Bayelsa), Tokunbo Abiru (APC-Lagos) and Nora Daduut (APC-Plateau).
Diri spoke after his predecessor, Chief Seriake Dickson. and immediate past Chairman of the party, Moses Cleopas, emerged as candidates for Bayelsa West and Bayelsa Central Senatorial Districts by-elections respectively.
Dickson emerged victorious at the primaries held on Saturday.
