Speaking during an inspection tour of some projects executed by Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration, when the standing committee of the Guild of Editors held its meeting in Enugu recently, the President of the body, Mustapha Isah, said that the governor’s massive rural development projects are commendable and worthy of emulation.
The Guild, in a statement co-signed by its President, Mustapha Isah, and General Secretary, Mary Atolagbe, wished Dantiye, whom it described as a detribalised Nigerian, many more years filled with wisdom and good health in his continuous service to the Nigerian media industry and the country at large.
He made this known during an interaction with members of the Nigeria Guild of Editors in Abuja on Tuesday.
In a statement signed by the Guild’s President, Mustapha Isah, and General Secretary, Mary Atolagbe, the NGE said its stick arose from Nda-Isaiah’s sudden death because he attended a meeting of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria in Lagos on Tuesday before his death on Friday.
ANEC is usually a three-day event, but the President of the Guild, Mustapha Isah, said this year’s edition will be virtual via Zoom and it will be for one day.
The Guild noted that if state governments were to focus on tackling poverty and developmental deficits in the rural areas, it would help to improve the wellbeing of the people
The Guild made the call in a statement by its President, Mustapha Isah, and Secretary, Mary Atolagbe, on Friday in Abuja.
Mustapha Isah, NGE President, made the appeal when he paid a condolence visit to NAN Headquarters on Tuesday in Abuja.
The Guild made the appeal in a communique it issued after a virtual meeting of its Standing Committee.
The ratification came up at the 15th All Nigeria Editors’ Conference in Sokoto on Friday.
