The state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. James Apam, who disclosed this on Thursday in Lokoja, said that the seat became vacant in June following the death of John Abah, member representing Ibaji Local Government Area in the assembly.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the lawmaker died in an undisclosed private hospital in Abuja in the early hours of Wednesday during a protracted illness.
