Friends and political allies of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, widely known as Yayi (APC, Ogun West), have donated over N1 billion to support his political ambition and campaign ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship race.
The donations were made through: “Friends of Yayi Support Initiative.”
Records seen by The Eagle Online showed contributions from politicians, businessmen, monarchs, and community leaders.
Although the official running total listed N967.4m as at April 29, 2026, further donations from major supporters, The Eagle Online gathered, had pushed the support above N1 billion, making it one of the biggest political fundraising efforts ahead of the 2027 governorship contest.
One of the most notable donations came from Hon. Kayode Jelili Amusan, an aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who stepped down for Yayi.

Amusan contributed N25 million in a strong show of loyalty and political alignment.
Also, Senator Lanre Tejuoso donated N40 million, placing him among the biggest individual donors.
Others included Dr. Isiak Kunle Salako with N26 million, Senator Lekan Mustapha with N20 million, Asiwaju Tele Ogunjobi with N20 million, Hon. Bukola Olopade also gave N20 million, and Alhaji Ibrahim Egungbohun, popularly known as IBD Dende, donated N30 million.
Chief Bode Mustapha contributed N30 million, while Dr. Fred Omojole Omolayo gave N10 million, Fatai Adesegun N10 million, Dr. Tunde Osinowo N10 million, Alhaji Isiaq Abass Saccobass N10 million, and Alhaji Akeem Ibrahim (HIMRA) also donated N10 million.
Traditional rulers were also part of the support base: Oba Adesegun Alowonle of Emuren donated N10 million, and Oba Kazeem Adesina, the Osobia of Makun, contributed N5 million.
Several political figures also made strong contributions, including Hon. Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi with N25 million, Pastor Tunde Osho and friends contributed N25 million, Hon. Jubril Adewale N10 million, Ajibola Fatgbems N10 million, Otunba Olumide Osunshina N10 million, and Hon. Bolayo Oloyede Oyesile with N10 million.
Also on the donor list were Rt. Hon. Egbetokun Tunji Samson with N10 million, Raji Rasheedat Temitope N10 million, Dr. Adetunji Oredipe N10 million, Omidina Abdulraheem Suleiman (SLAAB) N10 million, Otunba Kayode Adebari with N10 million, and Hon. Kayode Oladele N5 million.
The donations reflect the growing political structure around the senator as consultations continue ahead of 2027, a source told The Eagle Online.
The sources said the scale of support is expected to further strengthen Yayi’s position in Ogun State politics as the contest for the governorship seat gathers momentum.
