Access Bank on Monday said it had signed a subordinated syndicated Loan agreement worth $162.5 million (N58.18 billion) to promote growth and job creation by supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

The Managing Director of the bank, Herbert Wigwe, presented the cheque of the amount to Manuel Rosini, UNICEF’s Chief of Field Office, Lagos, at the end of the Access Bank, UNICEF and Fifth Chucker Polo Charity Shield Tournament in Kaduna.
Wigwe , who with three other Nigerians received honorary doctor’s degrees from the university at its 6th,7th 8th and 9th combined convocation on Saturday in Gombe, said the bank was ready to engage the graduates if they accepted the offer.

This represented a growth of 42 per cent when compared with N174.1 billion achieved in the comparative period of 2016 as stated in the bank’s audited half year result
Wigwe disclosed this while briefing the press on discussions at the 32nd Bankers’ Committee Meeting in Lagos
The first quarter results of the bank released in Lagos on Thursday also reported that its profit before tax increased by 38 per cent to N31.2 billion against the N22.6 billion in the same period in 2016
