The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development confirmed on Tuesday that it had taken possession of the property, located in Abuja, following a formal handover by the EFCC at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mabushi.
During the resumed hearing, the lead counsel for the defence, Mr Olalekan Ojo (SAN), raised objections to Justice Oshodi’s continued involvement in the case.
The trial judge, Justice Hamza Muazu, fixed the date on the agreement of the counsel after the close of the cross-examination of the ninth prosecution witness, Abibia Ockiya-Ogeleye.
The court also slammed a N100m fine against the Federal Government and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission.
The Federal High Court in Lagos will next week hear two applications in the “illegal possession of firearms” case against the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
