Abbas stated this while delivering the keynote address at the opening of the 8th African Network of Parliamentary Budget Offices (AN-PBO) Conference in Abuja on Monday.

The bill, co-sponsored with Hon. Daniel Asama Ago, aimed to amend the Electoral Act 2022 to enforce compulsory voting as a means of deepening democratic participation.

The message was contained in a statement by Akin Rotimi, House spokesman and Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs.
